For this project, I was tasked with creating a promotional poster inspired by a graphic design artist, which would both represent their style and serve as an advertisement for the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM). I chose to center my design around Stefan Sagmeister, an artist known for his bold, often provocative work that blends conceptual messaging with striking visual elements. I’ve always been drawn to his fearless approach to design—particularly his use of grunge typography and conceptual visuals that challenge viewers to think deeper.
To reflect Sagmeister’s edgy, experimental style, I designed a poster that plays with innuendo and double entendre, pushing the boundaries of traditional advertising in a way that mirrors his work. The word “Stefan” is written across the nails of my hand, photographed and used as the focal point of the design—adding a slightly uncomfortable element that invites a second glance. The rest of the composition was finalized using Adobe Illustrator and Procreate, allowing me to experiment with layout, and typography. This project deepened my understanding of expressive type, conceptual design, and how to visually communicate tone, emotion, and complexity.
